PFAS Questions?

Many have heard about PFAS (Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) and have many questions. PFAS - This is a complicated topic which we are happy to discuss with you.

We're Here to Help!

BACKGROUND

PFAS (Polyfluoralkyl Substances) are a family of approximately 4000 molecules containing the elements fluorine, hydrogen and carbon. Many of the molecules in the PFAS family are not readily decomposed by natural environmental processes and because of this are commonly referred to as “forever” chemicals. A certain few of these PFAS molecules are of particular concern because they had been extensively introduced into the environment as fire retardants sprayed on clothing and also from the manufacture of fluorinated plastics and they have severe toxicity issues.

AEROTRON Product Line – FAVORABLE UNDER THE FEDERAL PFAS REGULATIONS

The most prevalent regulations of compliance concern is the Federal Toxic Chemical Release Reporting Act (40 CFR Part 372) which identifies and requires reporting of the release of 180 specific PFAS molecules. Also in progress toward enactment is a Federal Drinking Water Regulation aiming to regulate specific PFAS molecules in the drinking water supply. Although AeroTron™ has molecules that contain fluorine, hydrogen and carbon, none of the components are PFAS regulated or require reporting under the Toxic Release Inventory Act and no components are the subject to the proposed PFAS Drinking Water Regulations.
