All EnTron and GenTech Solvents are non-flammable, non-chlorinated, azeotropic solvents that have high solvency on organic compounds (kb 129), achieve polar/non-polar cleaning with ease and are compatible with a broad range of substrates.
Both have physical performance characteristics that closely match 1,1,1 TCA and in many instances will equal or outperform trichloroethylene (TCE), MC, 141b and many of the designer HFE and HCFC solvents in critical cold wipe, vapor degreasing and ultrasonic cleaning applications.

GenTech is our general cleaning and degreasing solvent used in the metal fabrication, plating, and adhesion industries where surfaces need to be GenTech is engineered for applications where chlorinated solvents such as TCE, PERC and Methylene Chloride are being used for vapor degreasing and ultrasonic cleaning. The physical properties (no flash point, azeotropic, boiling point, solvency power, stability and ready distillation) and favorable regulatory profile make GenTech ideal for replacing chlorinated solvents. It is also RoHS compliant.
EnTron-Aero is our Boeing approved aerospace blend that has been tested in Boeing's Material Testing Labs and is approved for Aerospace Vapor Degreasing under Boeing's BAC5408 specification. EnTron-Aero approval is PSD6-64. EnTron-Aero is for aerospace users that clean to exacting standards.
Both EnTron and EnTron-Aero are powerful solvents that can be used as direct replacements for TCE and PERC. Both have excellent physical properties (no flashpoint, stability, easy distillation, azeotropic) and favorable regulatory profiles that make EnTron-Aero ideal for replacing chlorinated solvents in aerospace cleaning operations, and EnTron ideal for replacing chlorinated solvents in printed circuit board cleaning operations.
Both GenTech and EnTron family of solvents can be shipped by common carrier as they ship as Class 55, not regulated by the DOT for transportation. Therefore, smaller quantities can be shipped by UPS or FedEX and larger quantities can go by standard ground or rail carrier. And yes, GenTech and EnTron can be shipped by air, including next day air and second-day air.
Both GenTech and EnTron are at full strength in the drum container they are shipped in and neither should be diluted or come in contact with water.
Both EnTron and GenTech have a 2 year shelf life for an unopened drum. As long as the drum or pail is not opened, and the material is stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, the material will remain in excellent condition for at least two years. If the drum or pail has been opened, the shelf life is one year from the date of opening.

Reliance Specialty products is the manufacturer of our solvents. Our manufacturing plant where we create EnTron, GenTech and EnTron-Aero is in Illiniois. The main raw material, n propyl bromide (nPB) is not from Chinese sources. All raw materials comply with ASTM 6368-06 and our end products comply with the Reliance Specification criteria for that specific product. All of our solvents are manufactured to the highest quality standards and are known for excellent stability and extended bath life.
Validation Performance testing is part of the Reliance Transition Success Program. We provide free samples of the solvents, test clean sample parts in our labs, and/or host companies here in our facility to experience the solvents working first hand.
Gloves are not required as part of using the GenTech or EnTron solvents. However, as these solvents are very effective at removing oils and grease, so too are they effective at removing hand oils…which means they can be drying to the hands. Choosing the appropriate glove for your application facilitates safe handling by eliminating unnecessary contact. There are various manufacturer's gloves tested in accordance with ASTM F-739* to assist your Company in choosing an appropriate glove for your application - please contact us for a list of glove options.
Reliance offers an easy-to-use, free Spent Solvent Disposal Program for companies interested in disposing of their n-propyl bromide (nPB). As part of our lifecycle stewardship program, we offer our nPB customers our Spent Solvent Disposal Program. We provide an economical and environmentally conscientious means of concluding the use of your EnTron-Aero, GenTech, or EnTron cleaning solvents by providing a safe and efficient means for you to dispose of your nPB spent solvent. And even if you are not a customer, but want to dispose of your spent nPB solvent, we will work with you.
EnTron and GenTech have a favorable environmental profile. EnTron and GenTech contain no HAP's (Hazardous Air Pollutants) and are not NESHAP regulated nor are they considered a hazardous material by the Department of Transportation, therefore they ship non-hazardous additionally, spent EnTron/GenTech is not a hazardous waste, so disposal is simple and cost effective using the Spent Solvent Disposal Program.
All our solvents' composition are EPA SNAP allowed for sale into the vapor degreasing and cold wipe cleaning sectors. EnTron and GenTech not a significant global warmer or ozone depleter. Although currently considered a VOC, a petition requesting VOC exemption is pending before the EPA.
GenTech and EnTron boil at 160°F / 71°C. So depending on the solvent you had been using, the temperate settings will need to be adjusted on the vapor degreaser as will the safety limit control settings. For example, if you have been using TCE (which boils at 188°F / 87°C) the temperature settings will need to be decreased. For a complete table of the safety limit control settings please contact us.
If you have been vapor degreasing, operational changes are not needed. If you are new to vapor degreasing, our vapor degreasing technical staff will work with you every step of the way. But the simplicity of vapor degreasing makes elaborate operational changes unnecessary.
Each vapor degreasing unit has different charge requirements depending on the boil and immersion sumps. Our vapor degreasing experts have experience with a wide variety of vapor degreasers from Branson to Barron Blakeslee and we are happy to work with you to ensure proper operation.
As for when to add solvent, GenTech/EnTron's boiling temperature increases with the percent weight of machining oil (soil) to solvent load. Therefore, when the boil temperature of the solvent increases to 175°F which indicates the soil load of solvent bath is reached..add solvent. Also add solvent when the bath is depleted to maintain a consistent level in the immersion sump.
Yes, both GenTech and EnTron are specially formulated for vapor degreasing. As they are non-flammable, azeotropic solvents with extensive bath life and stability - they are ideal for vapor degreasing.
Yes, both solvents are readily distillable and with distillation the solvent usability is extended.
Additional ventilation is not needed, as most manufacturing facilities have higher ceilings and larger rooms. It is best to have the vapor degreaser in an open room where normal air circulation is present. Adding fans and over-head ventilation systems can decrease the bath-life of the solvent - contact us and we can discuss your ventilation plans to ensure proper vapor degreaser operation.
